Upcycling

 Upcycling

Grace works with clients to upcycle their clothes, turning unwearable or unwanted textiles into something new and improved.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Replacing whole panels with new fabric

  • Creating modular/removable pieces

  • Adding insets to create volume

  • Turning an old sheet or large piece of fabric into something wearable

  • Removing or adding sleeves

  • Turning pants into shorts

See examples below, and send any inquiries to egracenewcomb@gmail.com.

Patchwork

Grace used hundreds of small cuttings from fabric recycling company Fabscrap to construct the below jacket, shirt, and bucket hats, creating a beautiful and unique patchwork textile made from swatches that would have otherwise gone to landfill.

Miscellaneous projects:

Shown below, Grace was commissioned to upcycle a small girl’s “lovey” into a more durable, snuggly baby blanket.

Created 2 clutches from a leather tote that was torn up inside.

Created a detachable train by removing it and adding snaps.

Modernized the neckline by removing the lace collar and mesh yoke.
